Cruises have been a very popular vacation choice for years in many destinations around the world. In the waters of the coast of the Eastern United States, taking a Bahamas Cruise can be both enjoyable and economical and there is a variety of cruise lines and destinations to choose from as well as the length of the cruise. If you are looking for a relaxing cruise to a destination with beautiful water and endless white sand beaches, a Bahamas cruise may be just what the doctor ordered.
Even though Bahamas Cruises are offered all year long it is recommended that you make your cruise reservation several months ahead of time to get the best bargains available.
Depending upon where you live you will have to drive or fly to one of the ports where the cruise ships depart from. The majority of these ships leave out from either Miami or Port Canaveral on the northeast Florida Coast, f you live in southern Georgia Canaveral is not a bad drive. More than likely you will be flying into one of these areas before departing on your Bahamas Cruise. There are a number of cruise packages to choose from ranging from short three night packages to five days or more and the exact destinations will vary.
If you live in New York or near there, Norwegian Cruise Lines offers a seven day cruise that stops off at Miami, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau.
Carnival offers a five day Bahamas Cruise from Port Canaveral that will take you to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Nassau, a popular stop with most of the major cruise lines.
A Bahamas Cruise I can personally recommend is the one operated by Royal Caribbean leaving from Port Canaveral for a four night cruise that takes you to Nassau, Key West and Coco Cay, a tiny island owned by the Coca Cola Company and the cruise line. This is a fun cruise and the duration is perfect for a short fun vacation and the trip to Coco Cay was awesome. If you like to snorkel the tiny island is full of all kinds of varieties of tropical fish that will thrill you with a multitude of colors and species. Just be sure to try to be the first ones off the boat so you get in the water before anyone else. My wife and I did this last year and it was one of the most rewarding snorkel trips I have ever been on.
